Anderson seeks re-election as Pierce County Auditor

Julie Anderson announced today that she will seek re-election as Pierce County Auditor.

TACOMA, Wash. – April 2, 2010 – Elected as Pierce County Auditor in November 2009 during a special election, Anderson begins her 2010 campaign to ensure that County residents continue to receive improvements in elections, recording, animal control, and licensing services.
As the non-partisan Pierce County Auditor, Anderson will build on accomplishments already made under her leadership, which include:
·         Reduction of management staff and increase in front line customer service.
·         Faster posting of election results.
·         Use of technology to increase efficiency and improve customer service (online document recording, pet licensing, candidate filings; credit and debit card payment systems).
·         Ending the misuse of public resources for personal gain (political patronage and self-promotion).
Anderson has earned a reputation for accountability, integrity, and exceptional customer service, by putting the best interests of the County residents at the forefront of her work:
“Pierce County residents deserve nothing less than the best customer service, professionalism, efficiency and innovation, when it comes to essential government services like elections, recording, animal control and licensing services. Citizens are the top priority every day.”

Raised in a military family, Anderson’s public service track record includes two terms as a Tacoma City Council Member, where Anderson earned the trust and confidence of voters by listening and working to solve problems.  Anderson’s fair and practical leadership created a more citizen-friendly and transparent government, including the establishment of the city’s first ethics review board.
